127 Hours Analysis
This weekend just passed I went to go see 127 hours at Esher Odeon cinema. The film is based on a real life story of a climber who got trapped by his arm in a deep cavity in the earths crust. Danny Boyle directed the film (one of my favourite directors) and created a fantastic atmosphere in the film which was kept throughout the film, desperation and anixety kept me on edge throught the performance. There were some amazing camera angles at the opening of the film with Danny Boyle splitting the shot into three segments on screen giving three different panning shots of one point.
However my most and least favourite scene to watch was the cutting off the arm scene from the man trapped, when I mean most favourite and least favourite I mean that the scene is excellently shot and creates a sense of last resort for the audience and I always had in my mind what would I do if i was in that situation which keeps the audience engaged, a very clever technique by Danny Boyle. However my least favourite to watch because of the gore, blood and bone being splashed and bashed is horrific.
This was certainly an entertaining film and one I would very much like to watch again, it being a true story brought the movie to life and their is a book written by the actual man whos arm was trapped that I would very much like to read to get an insight of the true feeling of loss of all hope.
